It is said that there are 8 million, a number that represents infinity, kami in Japanese mythology. Kami is a term which embraces not only gods and goddesses but also deities, animal spirits, elements of landscapes and natural phenomenas. For this collection, I made a sculpture in clay inspired by a kitsune, a messenger of the kami Inari, and four other paintings of Amaterasu Omikami, Tuskuyomi-no-Mikoto, Susanoo-no-Mikoto and Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, using watercolours.
